Acquisition of GWS Tech Service GmbH strengthens the range of services and expands market access
XERVON Wind GmbH, which specialises in technical services for the wind energy sector, has acquired GWS Tech Service GmbH. As part of the acquisition, all of the company’s activities as well as all of its employees will be taken over. The signing of the transaction took place on 25 April 2022 and the closing took place on 1 June 2022.
GWS is primarily focused on the wind energy sector and works for both manufacturers and operators of wind turbines. The operational focus includes services related to the installation, dismantling, maintenance and commissioning of hydraulic systems, as well as component testing, checks of equipment components subject to mandatory testing and training in hydraulic and bolting technology. In the area of drive-in systems, repairs and tests are carried out in cooperation with inspection bodies.
Maik Schlapmann, Managing Director of XERVON Wind, emphasises the importance of the takeover for the up-and-coming wind energy expert: “The acquisition provides further impetus for XERVON Wind’s dynamic growth. There are strategic advantages both in terms of our portfolio of highly specialised services as well as in terms of our further strengthened personnel and technical capacities.” The integration of the acquired activities, which XERVON Wind will continue to run under its own name, will also strengthen its market presence. XERVON Wind Managing Director Tobias Wilming: “From a regional point of view, the addition of the Geilenkirchen site means that we will be closer to our customers in the local area. We will be expanding the location we have taken over in a targeted manner and will be able to provide both current and future customers with an even broader range of services close to where they are located.
