The right box for every battery

RETRON receives comprehensive approval from the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM)

The extension of the existing licences for the safe transport of critically defective lithium-ion batteries is an important milestone for the success of e-mobility in Germany.

RETRON GmbH – a company specialising in the transport and safe storage of lithium-ion batteries – has received approval from the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) to transport lithium-ion batteries with an energy content of up to 169 kWh. The approval covers all battery types, regardless of cell chemistry or geometry.

The approval was preceded by a successful fire test, with which RETRON was able to prove that the specially developed transport containers for batteries of all sizes fulfil all fire and explosion protection requirements and thus fully comply with the new BAM regulations (GGR-024).

Now available

The new service can now be used by battery manufacturers, the automotive industry and all suppliers of electricity storage-based appliances and systems across the entire branch network of the parent company, REMONDIS.
