FES welcomes high-profile visitors

REMONDIS delegation took battery-electric eEconic for a test drive

FES Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH, a public-private partnership between the city of Frankfurt am Main and REMONDIS, recently enjoyed a high-profile visit: Dr Martin Rethmann, chairman of the supervisory board of the RETHMANN Group, visited the company’s headquarters on Tuesday, 5 July. He was accompanied by Thomas Conzendorf, board member at REMONDIS, as well as the management of REMONDIS’ south-west region.

Successful partnership with the city of Frankfurt am Main

The guests were particularly interested in the continuation of FES’s success story as a public-private partnership and the extension of the partnership between the medium-sized, family-run company and the City of Frankfurt am Main for a further 20 years until 2040.

Alexandra Chmielewski, head of corporate development and at that time significantly involved in the drafting of the new contracts, informed the visitors about this at first hand. This was followed by information about the FES Group and current projects, especially in the area of digitalisation.

Focus on the battery-electric eEconic

Furthermore, FES presented the pre-series vehicle of the all-electric waste collection vehicle Mercedes eEconic, which has been in use since May. The vehicle was officially handed over by Dr Ralf Forcher, head of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, to Dirk Remmert, technical managing director of FES, at a press event at the FES headquarters in Frankfurt-Bornheim in mid-May.

The guests were given a comprehensive introduction to the vehicle and the company’s strategy for alternative fuels by Dirk Remmert and Pascal Wunderlich, asked questions and even insisted on a short test drive at the end.
