REMONDIS is expanding its environmental services portfolio by venturing into the Spanish wine industry. This latest partnership showcases our commitment to sustainable water management across diverse sectors and our ability to provide tailored solutions for complex industrial processes. Since the beginning of December 2024, REMONDIS IBERIA, through its subsidiary Cim Aigua, has been responsible for the operation, conservation and maintenance services for the environmental facilities of the Familia Torres winery.
Water treatment expertise meets centuries-old winemaking tradition
Familia Torres (Miguel Torres S.A.), which includes Bodegas Torres, is one of Spain’s leading wine producers. The company’s origin dates back more than 150 years, when it began its journey as a family winery in Spain. It later expanded its productive presence internationally, with a wine project in Chile in the 1970s and another in California in the 1980s. This growth has been maintained over the years with the acquisition of new wineries and vineyards in the main Spanish wine regions. Familia Torres has a firm environmental commitment that it carries out through the Torres & Earth program, which also includes the new contract with REMONDIS IBERIA.
Scope of services
Therefore, our expert team provides services in three of the company’s facilities in Catalonia, specifically in Pacs del Penedès, Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Martí de Sarroca, for the treatment of the wastewater from the wine-making process as well as well water, rainwater, company water, sanitary water and regenerated water.
The contract also includes the continuous maintenance of the facilities, water infrastructure and recycling plants to ensure their ongoing operation. Additionally, we ensure a reliable water supply at all consumption points in the required quality and quantity, ensuring proper waste management and classification and complying with the standards for the quality and quantity of both reused and discharged water.
