How can material cycles be closed even more efficiently? Which innovations will shape the future of the water and circular economy sectors? And how can international collaboration help accelerate sustainable solutions? These were the key questions addressed by the international leadership teams of the REMONDIS Group at this year’s International Management Meeting in Lünen. Managers from our business fields Recycling, Services and Water came together to discuss current developments in their respective markets, further refine shared strategies, and generate new momentum for the future of the water and circular economy industries.
“World Class Is Not Enough – We Are Already Thinking About What’s Next” was the guiding theme of this year’s event. For REMONDIS, this means continuously challenging existing standards, identifying emerging trends at an early stage, and actively working on the solutions of tomorrow. “Anyone aiming for long-term success cannot afford to rest on past achievements. What matters is anticipating change and actively shaping the future of our industry,” emphasized REMONDIS Executive Board Member Egbert Tölle in his opening address.
Looking ahead
The two-day program featured expert presentations in which managing directors from various countries shared current market developments, strategic priorities, and key projects from their respective regions. In addition, participants discussed future and growth topics that are particularly important for advancing sustainable resource management and recycling solutions.

„Wer langfristig erfolgreich sein will, darf sich nicht auf Erreichtem ausruhen. Entscheidend ist, Veränderungen vorauszudenken und die Zukunft der eigenen Branche aktiv mitzugestalten.“

A practical example of innovative approaches was provided during a visit to the new recycling center in nearby Selm. Christoph Lasek and Manuel Göke, Managing Directors of Stadtwerke Selm, welcomed the guests and offered valuable insights into modern, digitally supported processes for recyclable material collection. The digital appointment booking system enables citizens to use the facility in a particularly convenient and efficient way, demonstrating how digital solutions can enhance customer service. Once again, the visit highlighted REMONDIS’ commitment to innovation.

Personal exchange
This year’s International Management Meeting also featured exhibition stands where participants could learn about the latest innovations, developments, and activities in material flow management, including solutions in the fields of textiles, organics, and glass recycling.
Alongside the professional program, personal exchange played an equally important role. REMONDIS’ international network thrives on close collaboration and cross-border knowledge sharing. The International Management Meeting provided numerous opportunities for such interaction and once again underscored the importance of a shared understanding of sustainable business practices and responsible resource management.
The event clearly demonstrated that the challenges of the future can only be addressed through continuous innovation, international cooperation, and the courage to embrace new solutions. For this reason, REMONDIS is already working today on the answers to tomorrow’s questions.
For many participants, the intensive exchange continued afterwards at IFAT 2026 in Munich—the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste, and raw materials management.
