Secure jobs in uncertain times

Start of training at REMONDIS: More than 500 young people will now be shaping the future with us

Pride, curiosity and a certain amount of excitement were in the air on the morning of 1 August at the REMONDIS Group’s headquarters in Lünen. As always at the start of a new training year, a representative group of new apprentices was invited to the Lippe plant to mark the start of their professional careers together. The group was personally welcomed by Norbert Rethmann, honorary chairman of the supervisory board, who once again took the opportunity to welcome the young professionals. He encouraged them to always get involved, be curious and actively shape their own career paths.

More than 500 trainees have started their careers at REMONDIS. This is an excellent decision, as Frank Dohmen, managing director and head of HR, emphasised during the introductory event: “An apprenticeship in the circular economy is definitely the right step towards an exciting and successful career. While other industries are struggling with economic turmoil, the circular economy continues to grow steadily. Climate and resource protection through the recovery of important raw materials is and will remain an absolutely crucial issue for the future.”

The conditions for the circular economy remain favourable: nearly 400,000 qualified and motivated employees work in over 10,000 municipal and private companies at all stages of the value chain, generating a turnover of around 105 billion euros. From public services for municipalities to energy generation from waste and securing raw materials using state-of-the-art technology such as AI-controlled sensor technology qualified specialists are sought for all areas of sustainable business.
