BAYERNOIL has been presenting an annual award to its partner firms for a number of years now to show just how much they appreciate excellent performance. The bar is very high, however, with companies having to undergo a multi-phase assessment process to be able to receive this particular award. And this process not only expects them to deliver exemplary quality and safety standards but also evaluates their competence, flexibility and ability to meet deadlines. XERVON Instandhaltung, the Group’s maintenance specialists, have repeatedly demonstrated just how good they are and have now been presented with this prestigious safety and quality award for the 8th time. This latest award was presented in recognition of XERVON Instandhaltung’s performance in 2020, which makes it all the more significant.
XERVON Instandhaltung has been collaborating with BAYERNOIL since 1968. Around 180 XERVON operatives can be found working at its refineries in Vohburg and Neustadt every day.
At that time, they had travelled to their client’s refinery in Neustadt an der Donau to handle the largest turnaround in BAYERNOIL’s history. A whole number of tasks had to be performed at this plant including maintenance and repair work as well as TÜV inspections. And it could not have been at a more awkward time as the turnaround – which saw XERVON deploying 860 specialists – began in the same month as the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. This meant that, on top of the planned agenda, an extensive health protection concept had to be developed, organised and implemented while the project was being carried out. An additional challenge that the company had to master – and one that they passed with flying colours.
