BUCHEN’s training centre is the first one in Germany to be SIR-certified

High level of safety-oriented training in industrial cleaning

The training centre of BUCHEN UmweltService GmbH is now the first training centre in Germany to be certified according to the SIR safety standards. The certification awarded by the Stichting Industriële Reinigung (SIR) marks the centre as an accredited training location and certified examination body for theoretical and practical qualifications in accordance with the demanding SIR statutes. The focus is on safe working practices in industrial cleaning with a focus on the chemical and petrochemical industry.

The SIR certification, which is still rare in Germany, is a proven safety concept that has been used in the Netherlands and Belgium for more than 25 years. In both neighbouring countries, work with high pressure, pressure-vacuum, respiratory protection or chemical-technical cleaning has long been allowed to be carried out only by specialists with a valid SIR qualification.

The certification of the training centre underlines the high standards of BUCHEN UmweltService in terms of exemplary quality, health, safety and environmental management. A claim that also led to the establishment of the company’s internal training centre in Voerde on the Lower Rhine in 2008.

In addition to its own employees, BUCHEN also trains external specialists in the extensively equipped training centre. The industry-specific training programme ranges from basic or advanced seminars on industrial high-pressure water cleaning to courses for respiratory protection personnel. Across all training contents, the training centre trains 200 participants annually in up to 5-day courses. In the meantime, more than 30 BUCHEN employees have already obtained the SIR qualifications, which are valid for five years, in the specialist areas of high pressure operator as well as high pressure operator and high pressure machinist.
